The Genoese towers
Iconic witnesses to Corsican history, the Genoese towers have dotted the island's coastline since the 16th century. Built to watch over the sea and protect the population from invasions, they once formed a vast defensive network along the coasts.
Nearby Porticcio, several of these towers recall this rich past. The Genoese tower of Capitello, ideally situated between the sea and a lagoon, it faces the Gulf of Ajaccio and offers a remarkable panorama. A little further south, The Tower of Frassu stands in a wilder setting, inviting discovery and contemplation. Finally, The Isolella Tower, perched on its peninsula, dominates the sea and the surrounding coves, constituting an emblematic site blending heritage, nature, and exceptional landscapes.

The Sanguinary Islands

The waterfalls
